Invicta U18s Girls Declared Champions on Division 2

Folkestone Invicta U18 Girls have been confirmed as League Division 2 champions after a great first season under the Invicta banner. A total of 94 goals scored and only 12 conceded in an impressive campaign finishing six points above their nearest rivals has impressed many and can only mean good things for the forth coming journey into division 1. The commitment and dedication shown by the girls throughout the season in training and during games has impressed both coaches.

It is all the more impressive as the majority of the players are 15 only just approaching their 16th birthdays which means hopefully keeping the team together for another couple of years. There have been a number of outstanding team displays where the standard of play has raised many eyebrows and produced some absolutely delightful football. Although the season is done the girls are preparing for their first cup final against Kent Football United who also are the Division 1 winners. The cup final will be a one off game and anything can happen but the Invicta girls will go into this full of confidence and should enjoy the occasion. It should also provide an idea of the potential competition to be faced next season in division 1

The team are continuing to train on a Tuesday night from 6pm to 7:15pm on the Polo Ground, Folkestone and new players are always welcome though trial dates for next season will be announced in due course. The Shepway Building Contractor’s sponsored side wish to thank everyone that has supported them throughout the season and invite those that wish to support them to the KGLFL Cup Final to be played at Cobdown Sport and Social Club, Ditton, Aylesford. Timings to be confirmed.
